] I agree with you in that there were a LOT of good things about Emma1. I think that the Mr. Woodhouse in that version was closest to what I imagined when I read the book. The only thing that really spoiled it for me was that whoever it was that played Emma (names? Help?) played the role SO bitchily and nastily that I really could not like her. She was supercilious right through to the bitter end and I never could think that she deserved Mr. Knightley (not that he was a great prize in this one, either).

Emma was played by Doran Godwin, I believe. My only major complaint about her was her eyebrows -- overplucked and overactive! There were times when I caught myself wondering if they were going to jump off of her face!
