Yes, forgive me. I am too immersed in Jane Eyre right now. I guess I wanted to see a little passion exhibited by Emma and Knightly for each other. Not there though, which was my original question, How is Emma supposed to know even with all her meddling, that Knightly loves her if he never shows it openly? Not caring, not fatherly advice, but romantic love. Sorry but this bugs me in Emma. I see it as a plot boo-boo.
