Mr. Woodhouse and Mr. Bennett

While reading Emma again, I became a little (only a little) annoyed with Mr. Woodhouse. For some reason with the first reading and even in the adaptations, his worries didn't bother me as much as they are now. So I began to consider, of the two, Mr. Woodhouse and Mr. Bennett (a somewhat less involved father) which would be preferred?
Of course a father who is concerned for you is wanted, but so concerned? Perhaps it is just my temperament, but I think I'd rather have Mr. Bennett. I think, possibly, I would prefer the commentary provided by Mr. Bennett to the constant concern of Mr. Woodhouse. Provided of course, that my name is not Lydia!
Anyone else have a preference?
