] actually I don't think Dion is a character that is in Emma, although she might be a replacement for Jane Fairfax. I thought Miss Geist and Mr. Hall (the teachers) are Miss Taylor and Mr. Weston, and Amber is probably Mrs. Elton (remember her dancing with Elton at the end? her antagonism and competitive attitude towards Cher?). I'm not sure if a reliable book report could be written based on Clueless however...

Actually I would continue to argue that Dion is Miss Taylor in the case fo the novel Emma due to the fact that Miss Taylor is Emma's best friend, as Dion is Cher's. I would agree with you, however, on the idea that Amber is equivalent to the character of Mrs. Elton.
