] Thanks, Robyn!! You know what else I noticed when I watched Emma? They had the same music for the dance like they did in P&P2! I was so thrilled and loved every moment of it. Those two dances (in those two films) are my especial favourite.
] And yes, I also love that archery scene. It was so nicely done, and the proposal was so heart-wrenchingly sweeet! I couldn't help "Aaaaaaagh"ing, and sighing!

Hi Sari, and indeed, welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed both versions you saw...have you seen the television version from last year with Kate Beckinsale? It's different, but entertaining in its own way. We refer to that version as Emma3, the old version as Emma1, and the Paltrow version as Emma2, just FYI.
The dance/music you refer to above is called "Mr. Beveridge's Maggot" - here's a midi of the piece. I love it too - I think it's neat how very differently the dance is presented in the two adaptations (P&P2 is my favorite film of all-time!).
Anyway, enjoy the book - it's the best version of Emma yet! I hope you;ll share your thougths and questions with us as you read.
