"Your mother could be no less real than Miss Taylor".
What on earth does that mean????



I generally agree with Kathleen. I think it's supposed to mean that the loss of Miss Taylor could be no less real a loss than the loss of her mother.

But I also agree, Ann, that it's really a strange sentence for McGrath to have written. Maybe he's attempting to mirror the strangeness of early 19th century speech, but it's not very good movie dialogue if it's hard to decipher...
