KellyB - You make a very good point.
I hope (for their future happiness) that Mr. Knightley learns a more loving and tender way of encouraging Emma to realize her full potential than to continue with the "brotherly" criticisms he has spoken in the past.
It seems to me that they each have much to teach the other.
