] yes, with a sardonic wit, or as mrs. palmer and mrs. jennings said in s & s movie, "mr. palmer's always so droll!" :-D i think this same subject came up here on aug.24 - you may want to refer to those posts. their similarities made me think that hugh laurie(from s & s) would make a good john knightley.

I've always thought of them as sort junior Mr Bennets. They all have rather silly wives, know this, and are far too idle to do a thing about it.
