I'm also sorry I pissed you off. Not sorry for you, sorry for me. Since you obviously run the roost around here, I'm especially sorry, since I can see you're hell bent on making sure anyone who posts anything you disagree with will pay for it in blood.

Don't twist this around into something personal. I take great offense to the accusation that I would censure anyone to the detriment of this board or of Pemberley as a whole.

As the person maintaining the board, it is up to me to make sure that people understand what's acceptable to post and what's not. This has nothing to do with my personal opinion. In case you hadn't noticed (obviously not, considering the ignorance of our diversity you displayed in your "anti-adaptation" post), there are plenty of opinions expressed here with which I do not personally agree. In fact, as I stated previously, the only thing that all of us really have in common here is a distinct appreciation for the novel and a general enjoyment in the idea of Emma adaptations.

It appears that you do not understand the issue of appropriate civility in your initial posts. No one attacked you, and YOU, who accuse ME of petty, patronizing remarks, posted what may be considered one of the pettiest, most patronizing posts I've ever seen here on this board. Firstly, you open your posting with a gratuitous attack on ME, and subsequently, with an irresponsibly broad statement upon what's wrong with what amounts to a very large segment of our posters. I could also take up issue with your unfond references to us as "kids," but I'm not THAT petty.

In any event, the crux is this - we've had a fair share of gratuitously harmful argument here in the past, touched off by Emma2 people and Emma3 people arguing over which adaptation is best. In addition to the unkind tone of your post, your arguments seemed in essence to mirror the kind of go-nowhere, inflammatory remark which we've suffered in the past. It seemed that you were interested in starting another flame war on a related subject. Unluckily for you, I wasn't as charitable as I've been in the past in bud-nipping. And perhaps as a consequence (only YOU can aver the reasons for your continued rudeness), I failed to limit the unhappiness as was my goal. But the bottom line is, respect the rules I've put down. They're there for a reason. If you don't like it, either lump it or don't post. That's it.
