Unfortunately, as our lovely JA seems to believe in pairing cynical men only with silly wives (JK, Bennet, Palmer, Bertram?) I'm afraid I have no chance at all. I would like to think I'm not that feckless and, in fact, am much too cynical myself.
Lizzy Bennet has a harshish edge...and she got Mr. Darcy after all. He's not really CYNICAL, but he is grudging in his praise and generally serious in mood. Just like the notable cynics, he's got a crusty shell.
Besides, who wants John when she can have Fitzwilliam?!
