Poor Isabella? Poor John! I believe JK looks bad merely due to his situation. He's used to London and I'm sure Hartfield brings out a part of Isabella that she's more able to tuck away when out of the sphere of influence of her father.
I would definitely marry John Knightley - he is a Knightley, after all. He's got a sense of humor, he's intelligent, and most of all, forebearing. Of course, I've not got much to go on, but I'm considering the alternatives, e.g. Frank Churchill! Unfortunately, as our lovely JA seems to believe in pairing cynical men only with silly wives (JK, Bennet, Palmer, Bertram?) I'm afraid I have no chance at all. I would like to think I'm not that feckless and, in fact, am much too cynical myself.
