] Mr John Knightley on the other hand is great fun. As long as you weren't the butt of his bad humor, I think his nasty but humorous comments would be very entertaining.

We must remember that, the first time we are really introduced to Mr. J. Knightley is at the Christmas party where JA tells us that he is not in a good mood--and for fairly good reasons. Yes, he can be sarcastic and biting at times, but we mustn't rely to much on first impressions! One of the main reasons that he isn't in a good mood at that scene is that he wants to be home with his children. Is that wrong??
