] I have seen in several posts that Frank C. went to London not to get a haircut but to purchase the piano for Miss. Fairfax, but I've not seen it in anything that Jane Austen wrote. Did I miss something when I read the book, or did she comment about it to somebody and they recorded it for posterity, or is this just something everybody assumes to be true?

Mark--you should reread the letter that Frank sends Mrs. Weston in Chap. 14 of Volume 3. It clears up the mystery. :-)
