Big deal, Disney owns Miramax, and it had tons of films up for various Oscars. Also, note that Emma and English Patient were both up for best costume.
The Oscars this year were really pathetic, anyway. All these dumb movies (Jerry, Fargo) up for best pic! The year before was better. When Braveheart beat S+S I could actually see reasonable-ness in it. Aside from the fact that Mel (sigh, sigh) had to come up on stage again.
