________

I read that as saying that Mr. Woodhouse "survived" the marriage in the current meaning--he lived through it, or got over the shock of it; then let them return to Donwell. I'm glad there are other people who can understand better than I. Or perhaps, I should not read when I'm tired, and then I'll read all the words, because I must have skipped over the word "only"--"Mr. Woodhouse only survived Emma's
marriage" or I concentrated too much on their moving back to Donwell, and thought that he allowed them to go back there. I kinda remember reading a FanFic on that, so perhaps that colored my reading.

Thanks

Kathy
