I wasn't making a value judgment about Emma but I see your interpretation as well. Emma appears to have all the "best blessings of existence" but as her story unfolds, we see that appearances are false. Her warts include all those things you mentioned, and they are not admirable qualities to say the least. Ironically, Emma does a fine job bringing about her own woes when in fact, she had everything going for her materially.
I agree that there is some similarity in Miss Churchill's attitude toward her marriage to Captain Weston. Like Emma, she brings about her own unhappiness by her selfish desires. She has a lot going for her, including a great husband, but she wasn't satisfied.
