Monet; You are not alone. Although I enjoyed Emma2 and Jeremy Northam, Emma3 holds 1st place in my heart if for no other reason than it is true to the novel.

Strangely enough, on JNortham's audiobook reading of Emma, he does a more accurate, angrier Knightley than Hollywood allowed him. He is a very talented actor (and handsome), as is his counterpart, Mark Strong. I think that it is hard/unjust to compare the two.

] I feel a bit out of place here! I couldn't stand Gwyneth Paltrow as Emma, or the guy who played Knightly. Emma3, by A&E, and Sue Birtwhistle, who produced P&P was infinitely superior. Strong as Knightly was more what I expected a 40ish wealthy, aristocratic Englishman to be. He was also far more handsome, and manly than the other guy in Emma2. A&E predictably stayed with the book more than Hollywood as well. I may get stoned for this...but that ridiculous archery scene made me want to turn the movie off....
] Do you all REALLY prefer Emma2??!?!
