] Kathy, at the Republic of Pemberley we already have a group read calendar, which is no longer set to the same schedule as AUSTEN-L. Becuase of this, some of our posters will be involved in as many as TWO Austen group reads at once. As our ROP group read to start on July 20th is _Lady Susan_ - a very short work. I recommend that we vote for _Emma_ to be our next read in this forum, so that we may all read together. As always, everyone should read _Emma_ as early as often as they like...but as far as an official "group read," let's wait for everyone else. ;-)

Thats unfortunate. Why should we have to wait for others to read something we don't wish to? I have no intention of reading "Lady Susan," but would love to share "Emma" with the group without having to wait two months to do it! Pemberley isn't a dictatorship is it? If anyone wants to read "Emma" with a small group of people outside of the "Laws" of Pemberley, count me in! Our discussion does not have to be conducted here, we can use my "Emma: Mailing List" which has been quiet lately. The mailing list would come out daily, and everyone may comment each day as they desired.
Anyone who wishes to participate in a reading of "Emma" via the "Emma: Mailing List" - e-mail me.
Sorry, don't mean to be cross about this, but I think its silly that we can't read "Emma" together because some people at "Pemberley" are reading something else.
