] ] OK, so i could be completely blind as to its purpose, but what exactly is the point of the little scene in Emma2, at the ball, just after Mr Knightley has danced with Harriet. There is that little scene where Emma goes 'in search of' Mr Knightley, and (of course) finds him, and they walk off together, etc...
] If you are talking about the small portion of the scene where they walk out to the terrace, I think it is also important. How dull a movie would be if it weren't for the small pieces like these. Just one important scene after the next -- you need a bridge of some sort. That particular bridge gives us a wonderful opportunity to see Emma and Mr. Knightley interacting, without having to know what the conversation entails.
I don't know if this part is very important, but I have to admit that it is one of my favorite parts in the whole movie. The body language, (I love the way they put their heads together) the way they interact without saying much ... I love it. It shows how intimate they really are (in a platonic way at this point, of course).
