] Emma Woodhouse is Emma Woodhouse-greg. And as for KB,as an actress, I think she is the emotional equivalent of the floor. Her "I love you. I think I always have." was lethargic. Emma is supposed to have woken up by that time. GP was much more in keeping with my impressions. She was charming, playful, and touching. Her "I love him. So dearly, so greatly.." was sincere and heartbreaking. She is an instinctively emotional actress.

I agree with Kali. I thought KB was flat and average, but she also had a flatter and more average script to work with; she did nothing to rise above Davies' script. Using that criteria, I don't really think that GP rose above her material either, but she had more to work with in the script. Her emotional range, I think, was tested to a greater extent, and flat-out comedy is extremely difficult to do, not all actors can do it--she did it very well. I think Emma2 tested the actors to a greater extent than Emma3, and for that reason, I think Gwyneth did the better job. (Though not Jeremy. Sorry Kali, I didn't like his performance--but he does look great in breeches. ;-)
