] I don't think Gwyneth needs your pity. And as a matter of fact, I think she is at least as good an actress as Kate Beckinsale, whom some believe was out of HER league in attempting to play Emma. Kate's seemed to me more of a "stock" portrayal when it came to real emotion, whereas Gwyneth's seemed to come fromt he heart. Although I thought Kate was very good at being cute and flirting with Frank, she was weak in the most critical moments. But it is fruitless to argue over normatives.
