] Seems to me, though, that the role of Knightley in the series Emma is much more developed. I think Mark Strong was fantastic and the fact that he was so often angry at Emma just proved that he loved her. Every time she messes up, he has the sensation that she´s doing herself harm and he wants to protect her. Of course, he scolds her all the time, but that also makes Emma´s actions all the more understandable.
] Emma is reacting against him. Emma acts like a teenager in a rage, at certain points. She doesn`t listen to anybody. She just grows up in the end, when she thinks he has ceased caring about her.
] In fact, Knightley is quite a selfless lover, cause he tells Emma the truth, even if that means her starting to dislike and ignore him. The thing is Emma is romantic and when FC flatters her, she likes it. Knightley doesn`t flatter her.
] JN was indeed dashing, but I have to say that MS IS Knightley, for me. And he´s also more real and not as cover-of-a-magazine as JN.
] Just one more thing: GP was too gracious, she always looked good, even when she makes a fool of herself at the picnic. KB touched me more, cause she really looked bad in some scenes. She definitely looked humiliated or pensive. Not just pouting.
] Hooray for MS AND KB!!! ;-)

very good points luisa. no matter what one thinks about the writing/directing of emma3 vs. emma2, will anyone argue that gwyneth paltrow's acting is in the same league as kb's? indeed, i'd say that kb's so good for someone so young that she's almost in a class by herself. gp seemed to me to be clearly straining at the accent/emotions at times, which made me feel sorry for her because it was truly a heroic and admirable performance. p.s. just got the emma2 cd; i listen to it on my computer, in my car, even on my portable player in bed at night. does that mean i've finally snapped, or does it just mean that i try not to think about emma2 at dinner, in the garden, and even when i go to bed at night? something has got to be done!
