At the top of Lansdown street on the elevated acclivity of Beacon hill. is placed this most superb elliptical range of buildings, overlooking all the eastern part of the city, on the one hand; on the other commanding an extended prospect of the beautiful valley, with the winding stream of Avon, its green meadows, and the handsome villages scattered along its borders.
