in consequence of the missive, Autobiography of Jane Eyre: Draw My Life - Ep: 32, penned by Kellyn B
I LOVE the book, but have felt lukewarm about this vlog adaptation. I've thought it's interesting at times, but it's often seemed contrived, choppy, and not true to the story or the characters (like the episode with Jane sick in bed and whining - what was that about?). I've often felt like the storyline wouldn't make much sense to me if I didn't know the story they're basing it off of - too many gaps, and not enough information to understand anybody's motivations for anything, including Jane's. I've never felt compelled to watch it the minute a video is posted (honestly, I don't even know when they come out - I just check on youtube every week or two and catch up with it). I enjoyed reading all of your posts about how much you're enjoying it, though, and wondering if I have to go back and watch them again - apparently I'm missing something!
With all that said, though, I was really impressed with the Draw My Life video. Thought it provided adequate backstory (finally!), was very true to the original story, and was really well executed. If they were all like that, I'd be hooked!
