I liked Morse but there was a lot of angst going on with personal demons in his character. I like Lewis better---his personal issues seem more proportionally balanced---enough to make him relatable as a human, to feel empathy for what he goes through with the loss of his wife, but not so that they overwhelm the cases. But all in all I like Hathaway best. I'm thinking he must not have been offered his own show? I mean, how could he turn down starring in his own show for at least a couple of years? If, they did offer him his own show, I think this would be a mistake. I think he would do great. They would have to maybe characterize him a bit more but that would be an easy fix, imo. Oh well, there's always the reruns. I watch Poirot reruns endlessly and still enjoy them very much so I expect the Lewis episodes will still retain their enjoyment.
