Psych last year suffered from some really poor writing, mostly in the dialog but also in plot and characterization. the season opener this week stepped way up in all categories writing-wise. The acting was good too, with Timothy Omundson as Lassie taking top honors.
One of the best bits, though, was when Sean was in the bad guy's house with Gus and then Lassie and Jules showed up. He told them he was there in case they missed anything, then he saw a sliver of light coming out from under a display case in the corner. Instead of doing his usual hand to the head and "Oh, Oh, I'm seeing something ... it's a case of, no a wall case ... it's over here", he just stomped over, put his finger to his temple, and rolled his eyes as he shoved the case aside revealing the hidden passage behind it. Great scene.
