Isobel looking to be useful Written by Golda (2/19/2013 3:03 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Isobel's Future (with or without Dr. C), penned by Jezkalyn

During WWI when Downton Abbey was a hospital and Isobel found herself unwelcome in a confrontation with Cora, she went off to France to be useful. When she returned after the war, she was still looking for projects and was working with unmarried mothers to get them off the occupation of last resort. I agree that Isobel needs a useful role beyond dinner guest; it is going to take a clever writer to figure out what that should be. I feel as if she has been wasted, which I believe you have said before too. She had a much more substantial role in season 1.
