My son had to remind me the real Dan Stevens and his blue eyes is warm and alive. Although I was blindsided by the fatal accident and would have preferred another actor to be Matthew (not the same but I don't think Mary deserves such agony!) I understand Dan will be in other movies and TV shows in the future, and there really isn't a Downton Abbey to grieve.

I will miss his character terribly. He was not pretentious, good to everyone, smart, kind, funny, sexy and brought out the best in Mary. What's not to love?

I did like this episode's development of the other characters. In particular Thomas started distinguishing himself instead of scheming. Which probably means he's the next to go :(
