Tom and Downton abbey   Written by bridget D (2/18/2013 1:21 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, That's why he's interesting, penned by Angela H [Back to Board]
Are you new?

I think in the world of D Abbey, he's just a complete misfit. I know they wanted to keep him in the show after the departure of the Syb actress but I think that it just does not wrok. Teh fact that his grandad had a small farm in Ireland or whatever does not mean that he would have the experience or ability to be an estate manager in England. So the idea that he's staying as estate manager seems quite silly to me, but obviously he cant still be the chauffeur when he has been married to one of the Earl's daughters.
