How does this work, actually? If Lord Grantham dies while his grandson and heir is still a child, does Mary have any rights over the property, money, etc.? I know when this happens with a monarch, some adult guardian is appointed regent until the monarch reaches his/her majority, but is there anything similar with aristocratic titles below the level of royalty?
