and overcome. Tom himself has changed so much, as Mrs. Hughes noted. Mary bent a great deal to fall for Matthew in the first place. True, he was the heir, but really he was just a country lawyer. I don't see this a jumping the shark at all. They will be raising their children together and...well, let's just see.

Oh dear, it appears that Darcy's Aunt is NOT Lady Mary. My mistake.
