Fellowes interview (major spoilers)   Written by Cherie (2/18/2013 8:42 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Major spoiler, penned by Bridget D [Back to Board]
Are you new?

Julian Fellowes addressed that in an interview posted by the NY Times this morning (linked below). He suggested other options, but didn't have much choice.

The reviewer at HuffPost thinks Matthew's death was a good choice; that his character had many of the silliest lines and story arcs and had kind of reached a dead end (so to speak).

I think much of the writing, this season especially, has been not good, but in this case Fellowes may have done the best he could have.
