I was wondering if Bates had gone soft...   Written by Namrata (2/11/2013 11:34 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Is Thomas going soft?, penned by Robbin [Back to Board]
Are you new?

I understand he was in prison and that alters you. I still thought it incredulous that he wanted to stand up for Thomas and help him. Why would he want to get involved? Thomas gave him so much trouble. And knowing that getting involved would mean getting between Thomas and O'brien should have made him run even further away!! He's just finally hitting a good turn/streak - out of prison, with Anna, in a cottage, in his old job. Why ask for trouble??
