Original "Upstairs, Downstairs" series Written by Jennifer Louise (1/29/2013 11:21 a.m.)

I saw bits and pieces of the new "Upstairs, Downstairs" and that got me interested in the older series. I have been watching them at the gym while I work out, as they're all on YouTube. Just curious if there are other fans of the original series out there (I imagine there are plenty), and in particular if anyone else has taken to watching them more recently.

It took some getting used to the show's production values (filmed on videotape and very stagey), but the acting and story lines are so engaging that you don't notice it for long. And I will admit that sometimes the pace is almost unforgivably slow, but it does give you more time with the characters.

I'm just now on the second episode of Series 3, so I know what happens to Lady Marjorie. I'd love to be able to discuss the show with someone.
