I dont think the show's likely to run for more than 1 more season is it? I dont think, based on what I've seen so far of D Abbey, that he's up to much as a writer. I think that the budget is clearly about 90 times the size of Upstairs Downstairs the original series, and yet the show is far weaker.

I agree about married couples in fiction. It is very difficult to make them very interesting and few writers can do it. Usually they do have this thing of making thte couple argue a lot which I dont much like. But IMO neither Mary nor Matt were ever all that exciting (she seems a snobby unpleasant young woman and he's just a pretty boy)...As for Branson!
