Well, I need to stay away from here in regards to Written by AnnetteJ (12/29/2012 10:58 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, A Writer explains (spoilers), penned by StephenB

"Downton Abbey!" I don't think it is necessary to put spoiler in my post...What I do not understand is why not continue the characters with different actors? We have done that in America with somewhat mixed results, but, honestly, does anyone now really remember the difference between the Darrens in "Betwitched?" And Sarah Chalke was,IMO, a much more believeable Becky than the actress she replaced in "Roseanne." Maybe for purists it would not be a good solution, but it would work for me.
