But to answer your question, I think it's not so much which one is the "winning" quality, rather, which one is the most disadvantageous quality. It's quite clear that JA had put down "excessive sensibility" the least prefered on her list, given Marianne's example. So I suppose it's fair to conclude that "excessive sense" would be the lesser of the two evil.
