Marianne gets a little more sense thanks to her "near-death experience" (joe m dixit), Elinor discovers the element of sensibility in her nature by falling in love and suffering in silence for it...

In other words, these young women mature into their adult selves and embark on the new phase of married life by achieving a better equilibrium of head and heart.
