This is the last week of the S&S GR, and we are getting to the ending.
Marianne, who did not believe in second attachments, married a second attachment herself! Indeed, she 'was born to an extraordinary fate. She was born to discover the falsehood of her own opinions, and to counteract, by her conduct, her most favourite maxims.'
It has made me think, and I notice that most people in this book do not marry their first attachment(ie Marianne, Colonel Brandon, Edward, Lucy, Willoughby); Elinor - the sensible Elinor - however, did marry her first attachement.
