GR: I Know Exactly What You Mean (Possible Spoilers)   Written by Chandra (9/16/2003 9:49 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR:Marianne will always be Marianne, penned by Monica C.
Are you new?

Possible spoilers ahead!!

] I've always enjoyed that as it is proof that Marianne has not 'lost' her enthusiasm as many of the editors who write essays in the front of books always suggest (you know what I mean, those academic essays in some editions) and that she is a shadow of herself, wholly subdued and hence her marriage to the dear Colonel is 'giving in' completely to a life of sense and a complete loss of passion. I always find that very depressing.

] A happy couple they should be, I'm sure!

Those essayists always seem to hate the idea of Colonel and Mrs Brandon. They are very pessimistic, so much so that I wonder if they read the book at all. (I would site a few examples of proof that Marianne will not be devoid of passion in her future, but it interfers wth the Group Read schedual!)
