] It really steams me up that he all but forced Elinor to forgive him! I'll admit Willoughby's good at it. Remember Eliza Williams, refusing to tell the Colonel the name of her lover until pressed, and he had dumped her while pregnant!

I assumed that Eliza didn't tell the Colonel because she wanted to prevent a duel; whether to protect the Colonel, Willoughby, or both, I can't say. Just my two cents. ;-)
