Yes, that's why I think that if Colonel Brandon had told her about Willoughby's history earlier, (a witness she would have *had* to believe), that she would have done *something* about Marianne's relationship with him. Whether *for* Willoughby or against him, Mrs. Dashwood was not half-hearted, even going as far as remembering things a little differently than they actually happened! ;-)
