GR: Angst-riddled Marianne   Written by Lynn Maureen (9/12/2003 10:56 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: Precious, invaluable misery, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

] What do you all think? Do you see signs of this addiction/attraction to 'violence' as Tave suggests?

Aside from the 'teenage angst' and immature and selfish nature of Marianne, I do believe (along with her mother) that she has the characteristic tendency to desire to wallow in her misery, who is more comfortable in that which strokes her pain, rather than rising above it. (I know people like this.)

I have not been able to participate in the group read as I thought I would have. I have been busy getting my daughter off to music conservatory, so this pleasure has been put on hold. Soon everything will calm down - but by then this group read will be over. *sigh* I'll have to wait until the next!
