GR: I am voting for #2 or #4   Written by Claire S (9/9/2003 2:05 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR : About Miss Morton, penned by Pierre
Are you new?

]2. She has just heard of the Ferrars, and does not mind marrying either Robert or Edward. She will obey any order given to her.

I can't imagine anyone who knew the Ferrars well intentionally courting their favor. (Edward was too shy to have his goodness widely known.) I think they just fall into the financially suitable category, which makes them interchangeable.

]4. She has never heard of the Ferrars, and can be ready for a big surprise.

I also think that there is a good possibility that the micromanaging Mrs. Ferrars has set her sights on the poor, unsuspecting Miss Morton, fully expecting that no effort need be taken other than a proposal, because she believes that any girl would be thrilled to be so intimately connected to herself.
