] However, I'm a bit fuzzy on the novel's timeline - Colonel Brandon received the letter about Eliza in October. Can anybody remind me when the duel took place, and when Elinor and Marianne went to London?
Col. Brandon says that Willoughby came to town within a fortnight after he did. When the colonel found Eliza, she was near to delivering her child. The duel would probably have taken place in November some time. Elinor and Marianne come to London in January.
] How would Marianne feel finding out about this years later?
She is clear on her feelings about this, as we will see before the end of the book.
