GR: Lucy's charm   Written by joe m (9/2/2003 10:43 a.m.)
Are you new?

I wonder if Lucy thinks she's being subtle here? (-;

"I should have been quite disappointed if I had not found you here still ," said she repeatedly, with a strong emphasis on the word. "But I always thought I should..."

Lucy doesn't miss any opportunity to mark her territory. Still, I can't help but be impressed with her innate intelligence, despite her total lack of education. She conveys her meaning with a thin veneer of civility. An onlooker who was ignorant of Lucy & Edward would, at worst, see some insincerity in her address. With some education and direction she could have been a much better person, (or a much, MUCH more dangerous one.)
