in consequence of the missive, GR delicious paragraphs in chapter 34, penned by alexl
I love this line and had it marked as one of my favorites during this week's chapters. They perfectly compliment each other, don't they? ;-) ] for of the quarter of an hour bestowed on Berkeley Street, she sat at least seven minutes and a half in silence. ] Mrs Jennings silent for 7 1/2 minutes. Read the paragraph again - I think the person who has been silent here is Fanny Dashwood, not Mrs. Jennings. ;-) More LOL lines this week: "Elinor sighed over the fancied necessity of this..." [the duel - you can almost hear Elinor muttering to herself, Men! humph! ;-) ] "...and as for Lady Middleton, she [Fanny Dashwood] found her one of the most charming women in the world!" "She [Mrs. Ferrars] was not a woman of many words: for, unlike people in general, she proportioned them to the number of her ideas..." But the best one, and one I use quite often, is: "Elinor agreed to it all, for she did not think he deserved the compliment of rational opposition." Perfect!
