] Ah! I see it more like he's Helena and she's the oblivious Demetrius.
That certainly works too. I was thinking more of the overall situations, with Hermia/Marianne, giving her love to Lysander/Willoughby while publicly snubbing Demetrius/Brandon who loves Hermia/Marianne.
] Here's a speech of Helena's Brandon could make himself, if we changed the 'his' to 'her'
I think you've convinced me. (-; Demetrius/Marianne is quite cold-hearted towards Helena/Brandon for no good reason, and Helena/Brandon loves Demetrius/Marianne despite her devotion to Hermia/Willoughby. (If that makes any sense whatsoever.) (-;
