I agree also! My mother too was similar to Mrs. Dashwood in that she could never understand it when people reacted to something in a different manner than she thought she would have in the same circumstance. I think this is why people like JA so much -- she had a great understanding of human nature, which doesn't seem to change terribly across the centuries.
