In chapter 16, we have the following description of Edward's arrival at Barton:
"Amongst the objects in the scene, they soon discovered an animated one; it was a man on horseback, riding towards them."
So we have this image of a solitary figure, right? Then not half a page later:
"He dismounted, and giving his horse to his servant walked back with them to Barton..."
How did one man on one horse suddenly become a man, a horse, and his servant? Would not any servant also have to have a horse? Something about this scene eludes me.
